Humanity’s extinction looms, and one man must navigate a dark and disturbing destiny.

As they journey through hell, however, Breht discovers that zombies may be the least of his problems. Treachery awaits in the dark wilderness of humanity’s fall.

I enjoy a good zombie apocalypse, so I've read a good many. Sometimes I don't bother to finish what I've started because not everyone is capable of presenting a story with interesting characters, or a gripping plot, or just an interesting idea of how the disease works. But, so long as the author can give me something in any one of these areas, I'm going to be satisfied. So, in starting the book I was pleased with the selection of characters. Nicely drawn portrayals, and intriguing hints under the surface. Then I noticed how skillfully the surrounding world was drawn, the skill in describing the environment the characters passed through and was pleasantly surprised. The further I went, the better it got. Even the disease had a different slant than I usually see. I will give no details, I won't tell you what to expect beyond a gripping story with a satisfying end. Take the time to find out for yourself. It's worth it.Product details

I enjoyed the book. Well written and engaging. The story was formatted well and the characters were defined well. You got to know their feelings and goals. Because of the way they were described you could begin to see how they handled the end.
Really good, entertaining read! lots of action and suspense. Good characters and a good story. highly recommend!
Not normally a fan of anything "zombie", but this book hooked from the start. A rich tapestry of the zombie apocalypse mixed in with the relationships of the survivors made for excellent reading. Recommend this book highly, it was a rapid page turner from start to finish.
Really good, start of the ZA, story. The main character, Staff Sargent Breht, is an interesting guy. A disgraced soldier, he is pressed into duty to lead a group of soldiers, when The Dead start to walk. And alot of the Zombies here can run too, which always up the tension. Breht's misson made me wonder, but I liked how it turned out in the end.
Book II isn't out yet, I was sad to see. I'll definitely look for it.
The author showed talent in the introduction by explaining English English to thwart the spelling and grammar nazis. The book, on that note, is well written and has obviously been proof read prior to publication.
The plot was far from predictable and is told in present and past in basically alternating chapters. Descriptions are above average and the characters complex. All in all an excellent book.
